When people get behind the wheel after drinking they are making a decision that may cost others their lives. Whether they are conscious of this decision or not, it is still a bad one, and if an accident occurs they will have to face the consequences of their actions. Many people may be under the impression that those drinking and driving only harm other drivers on the road, but there have been some instances where pedestrians have been the victims of a drunk driver’s bad choice.

A Virginia man was recently charged with drunken driving following him killing a pedestrian and striking another car. The female pedestrian was the only victim to die, while the drivers and passengers involved in the accident walked away with minor injuries. As of right now, it has not been said if the drunk driver will be charged with anything else, but there is a chance he will be.

Unfortunately, people drink and drive all the time even though they know it is not the best decision. In this particular situation, the drunk driver took another person’s life and will now have to face the consequences. He may be facing various charges for his actions, but there is no guarantee that he will be punished.

When caught driving under the influence, there are a number of consequences a person may have to face. However, there is a chance that people who are suspected of drunk driving may be able to get the charges dropped or may be given a lesser sentence if they hire an attorney to assist with their case. If there is a chance of a person facing a lesser sentence or no sentence at all for their actions, this chance may only be because of the attorney they have hired. Anyone facing a DUI charge may want to seek legal assistance as soon as possible.
